The MSA Skull Guard™ cap style hard hats are made of high-quality fiberglass, so they provide much better heat resistance than hard hats made of regular plastic. Large amounts of radiant heat can be dangerous, and a number of occupations expose workers to high heat. Welding is a great example. Most safety helmets are made with plastic strips, so they’re not equipped to handle high temperatures.

Since these hard hats are made with strips of fiberglass, they’re effective at reflecting radiant heat. Due to their unique properties, fiberglass helmets are frequently used for ship building and construction. These helmets are especially useful for welders. The swing ratchet suspensions are easy to adjust and take only seconds to position.

The MSA Skull Guard™ cap style helmets don’t give you as much protection as the full brim products, but they provide enough protection for many types of work. Since these helmets meet specific ANSI safety requirements, they’re ideal for many hazardous worksites. They protect against top impacts and low voltage. Every helmet can withstand temperatures up to 350 degrees.

The MSA Skull Guard™ cap style hard hats feature a smooth crown and can be purchased in a tan or white color. After you’ve purchased and received these hard hats, you’ll notice that every hat is slightly different. The manufacturing process results in slight differences between hats.
