This is my second Skullbucket. First one fulfilled it's ultimate destiny by protecting me from a falling ladder. Thank you! With this second hardhat I opted for the brim liner. Liner came dangling from the hat, adhered only at the ends. It didn't seem to fit the brim and didn't look good. So, I removed it. The adhesive used removed the factory coating on the hat. Now I've a large, bare metal section at the brim edge. Kind of a bummer. The factory suspension is ok. I always purchase an aftermarket suspension which is much more comfortable and adjustable.

This is my third Skull Bucket over the years and they are still the best in there class rating, my first red one saved my beacon when I was hit with a deadfall from about 60 feet up, killed the Skull Bucket but I walked away with a mild concussion. Over the years they have changed some. My first two (one Red and one Forest Service Green) where powered coated both inside and out. The new red one is only powder coated/painted on the outside with bare Aluminum color on the inside(not a big deal at all). On the older ones (around 2006) the top inside aluminum plate was riveted in where the new models are not. The reason for needing a new one was/is after years the green one (I never took a hit on it at all) the front rivets where the suspension connects finally started to rust out. The new one is as sturdy and looks even better made than the old models and the edge protector is a nice add on. The new ones have the Skull Bucket logo stamped on them unlike the old ones but you can wear it facing forward or towards the back. Overall well worth the money for something that will last years and save your life.
