Safety Gloves

Of all the different accidents that occur in the workplace, hand injuries are among the most common. They are also among the easiest to prevent by ensuring that your employees are wearing the appropriate safety gloves. Think of it as reaching into your oven without some type of oven mitt, you would not do this so why would you expect your employees to work without the right type of gloves to keep their hands safe. Selecting the right type of safety gloves to meet your employees' needs is very important as using the wrong gloves for a particular job can actually result in more frequent injuries that are more serious in nature. This has been found to be a result of overconfidence in the gloves that they are wearing, at least when they are not wearing any type of glove most people tend to be more careful. Even if they know that they are not wearing the right gloves people can be overconfident and careless. The most commonly used safety gloves are those that are designed to be cut resistant, these come in different materials that are intended to be used in different occupations.

Most industries that use box knives or paper knives now require their employees to wear protective gloves. Those who work in the meat packing industry also wear heavy duty cut resistant gloves often made with a steel reinforcing mesh because it is more resistant to the impact type of cutting motion from a meat cleaver. Other industries that do not involve cutting also require the use of safety gloves to protect their employees' hands. Industries that involve the use of chemicals often supply heavy duty rubber gloves that reach all the way to the employee's elbows to ensure that there is no risk of them contacting what could be dangerous chemicals. Many of these gloves are designed to be heat resistant as these chemical are often used at high temperatures. Even disposable latex and vinyl gloves are considered to be safety gloves and may be the most common type of protective glove in use. They are used in the medical field to protect doctors, nurses, EMTs and many other medical professionals from exposure to blood born diseases.

They are used by many people who just want to keep their hands clean or in the food industry to provide the hygiene required by most states to protect customers from illnesses caused by those who do not properly wash their hands. You will find that there are many places that you can buy safety gloves for your employees both on and offline. However you need to find a supplier that carries a wide range of gloves for every type of environment that your employees will encounter. At TASCO you will not only find a wide variety of gloves, but they stock all of the different sizes you will need to fit your employees as the only thing worse than not wearing safety gloves is wearing ill fitting gloves as these can lead to serious injuries.
